Situated in the core of a reserved forest and spread in the area of 1727 sq. km, Tadoba National Park lies in the Chandrapur district of Maharashtra (India). It is also known as the "Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve" and it is one of India's 47 project tiger reserves existing in India.

The Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary was formed in the year 1986 and was amalgamated with the park in 1995 to establish the present Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve. This place is an ideal weekend getaway for wildlife and nature lovers. Spotted in this region are rare species of flora and fauna, soothing your very being. Tadoba is famous for Tadoba national park, Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve, Tadoba lake, Erai dam, Moharli and Khosla village. These attractions serves the tourists of an enchanting wildlife experience.

Tadoba national park is very famous for those who want to spot the Bengal tiger. The gypsy safari of the park is also called as the tiger safari. The park is famous for birdwatching and spotting tigers. One of the largest and oldest national parks, which has endless treasure trove of large number of species of trees & plants and wildlife like panthers, tigers, hyenas, sloth bears, wild dogs, jackals, barking deer, bison, sambar, herd of deer to name a few.

Overshadowed by teak & bamboo, and with a magical landscape of rugged cliffs, marshlands, lakes, etc., it's full of unlike flora and fauna, which was once privileged by shikaris (hunters).

Numerous reptiles are found near the lake. The lake is the main habitat for marsh crocodile. There are more than 195 species of birds found here including three highly endangered species. Top raptors found in the park are crested serpent eagle, grey-headed fish eagle, changeable hawk eagle and others.

Climate

The best time to visit Tadoba National Park is between October and June. You can expect to spot most tigers between March and June. The Park remains closed between July and September.
