Gulmarg lies in a cup-shaped valley in the Pir Panjal Range of the Himalayas, at an altitude of 2,650 m (8,694 ft). The natural meadows of Gulmarg allow the growth of wild flowers such as daisies, forget-me-nots and buttercups during spring and summer. The meadows are interspersed by enclosed parks and small lakes, and surrounded by forests of green pine and fir.Skiing and other winter sports in Gulmarg are carried out on the slopes of Apharwat peak at a height of 4,267 m (13,999 ft).

Pahalgam

Pahalgam, also known as the “Valley of Shepherds”, located in the Anantnag District of Kashmir, is a nature lovers retreat. It is famous for its scenic beauty and is the jewel of the picturesque Liddar valley located in the high Himalayas. It provides an ideal setting for activities like hiking, trekking, and fishing. It is also the starting point of the annual pilgrimage to the holy cave of Amarnath.

Detailed Itinerary

  1. Day 1 Arrive Srinagar

    Srinagar

    On arrival our representative will meet you and escort you to your hotel. On arrival, check into the hotel.

    Srinagar, is the largest city and the summer capital of the Indian union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. It lies in the Kashmir Valley on the banks of the Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, and Dal and Anchar lakes. The city is known for its natural environment, gardens, waterfronts and houseboats.

    Later, in the afternoon, proceed for sightseeing of Mughal Gardens visiting Nishat Bagh (Abode of pleasure) built by Asif Khan brother in law of Jehangir in 1632 AD. And Shalimar Bagh (Abode of love) built by Jehangir for his wife Empress Noor Jehan. All the gardens are situated on the bank of Dal Lake with the Zabarwan Mountains in the background. The distance from Srinagar to the said gardens is about 12 and 15 kms respectively. Enroute visit carpet-weaving factory.

  2. Day 2 Srinagar-Sonamarg-Srinagar

    Today after breakfast, proceed for a full day excursion to Sonamarg (Golden Meadow). The distance of about 83 kms will be covered about 2-½ hrs. Sonamarg lies in Sindh Valley streamed with flowers and surrounded by mountains.

    Sonamarg is also the base for some interesting treks to the high altitude of Himalayan Lakes. Enjoy horse riding upto Tajwas glacier and sledge riding on snow. Late afternoon drive back to Srinagar

  3. Day 3 Srinagar – Gulmarg

    After breakfast drive to Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 Mts. above sea level. The distance of 65 kms will be covered in about 2 hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat Mountain if weather permits. The view enroute from Thangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. on arrival Gulmarg Transfer to Hotel afternoon Enjoy Famous Gondola ride on Sun shine Mountain Peak one can also enjoy sledge riding on snow there on your own.

  4. Day 4 Gulmarg - Pahalgam

    After breakfast drive to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds). The distance of about 145 kms will be covered in about 4hrs. Enroute you will be visiting Saffron fields, view the beautiful countryside on the way and lot of rice fields.

    You will drive through the pine forest. On arrival in Pahalgam, check into the Hotel and relax. Later in the afternoon have bridle walks and feed your cameras with the picture of magnificent view of Snow capped mountains & Surroundings in front of your hotel.

  5. Day 5 Pahalgam

    Once you are in Pahalgam, you will get to know all the reasons, why this magnificent hill station is among the most sought after destinations in Kashmir. The scenic vicinity along the banks of the Lidder River is known for its lush-green ambience and untouched beauty. Even for the nature lovers, Pahalgam proves to be an ideal destination. The wide range of flora and fauna of this region is an ultimate treat for those who are in love with the enchanting beauty of Mother Nature. This quaint hill station serves as the home to several endangered wildlife species like Leopard, Brown Bear, Hangul, Serow, Grey Langur, Rhesus Macaque, Himalayan Mouse Hare and Musk Deer.

    After breakfast you can visit valley of Kashmir, Baisaran & Dabyan Called Mini Switzerland by pony on your own or optional on can visit Bettab Valley/ Aru Valley by local vehicle on your own.

  6. Day 6 Pahalgam - Srinagar

    Srinagar

    After breakfast checkout from the Hotel and drive back to Srinagar, a distance of about 90 kms will be covered in about 2 hrs Approx. On arrival in Srinagar you will be transferred to the Houseboat.

    Later in the afternoon enjoy a Shikara ride on Dal Lake and visit the unique floating markets and Vegetable gardens etc. Also witness walnut woodcarving and paper making demonstration.

  7. Day 7 Srinagar – Departure

    Srinagar

    After breakfast, checkout from the hotel and proceed towards Srinagar airport to connect with your flight for your onward destination.
