Introduction

The fastest land animal, the graceful and endearing speedy Cheetah which had become extinct in India is now set to return this August 2022 with many of them being relocated to the Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh from Namibia. India is now becoming the proud home to Six Big and Fifteen Small Cats, having already been home to five. This land of Kipling, Jungle Book, Mowgli, Sher Khan, Bhaloo, Bagira and Haathi is now going to become heads and shoulders above all else as the "Greatest Cats Country on Earth"!

Delhi is said to be one of the oldest existing cities in the world, along with Jerusalem and Varanasi. It is the Capital Territory of India and a modern-day citadel that's dotted with ancient monuments.

History and Culture

Legend estimates it to be over 5,000 years old. Over the millennia, Delhi is said to have been built and destroyed 11 times. The oldest alleged incarnation of the city shows up in the Indian mythological epic Mahabharata as Indraprastha.

Detailed Itinerary

  1. Day 1 Arrive Delhi

    Delhi

    After clearing Customs and Immigration, step into the receiving area, where our representative will meet you and escort you to the hotel.

    On arrival, check into the Hotel and relax for the day.

    Overnight at hotel (No Meals)

  2. Day 2 Delhi – Gwalior By Train & drive to Kuno National Park

    Kuno National Park

    Delhi – Gwalior By Train (Gatimaan Express Train # 12050 – DEP: 08:10 / ARR: 11:07 Hrs.) & drive to Kuno National Park (Approx. 81 Miles / 130 Kms / 2 ½ Hours’ drive)

    After breakfast, transfer to the railway station to board your train to Gwalior.

    Arrive Gwalior and drive towards Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary which is also known Palpur situated in Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh. Kuno has been selected site the Cheetah rehabilitation project.

    After becoming extinct in India in 1952 through relentless hunting over a period of a 100 years, as a great sport under the colonial period, "The Cheetah" is all set to return back to it's original home in the plains of North India !

    On arrival, check-in to the Tented accommodation.

    Rest the day at leisure.

  3. Day 3 Kuno National Park

    Kuno National Park

    Today explore the national park with Morning and Evening Jeep safaris. These safaris are amazing and it will let you explore the wildlife sanctuary to the fullest.

    Kuno-Palpur Wildlife Sanctuary is a perfect place to get away from the hustle bustle of the city. This wildlife sanctuary is replete with a large number of flora and fauna that magnifies the beauty of this place.

    You will get an opportunity to explore and learn about the myriad animals, birds and trees by visiting this mesmerizing place.

  4. Day 4 Kunu National Park – Gwalior By Road & board the train to Delhi

    Kunu National Park – Gwalior By Road (Approx. 81 Miles / 130 Kms / 2 ½ Hours’ drive) & board the train to Delhi (Gatimaan Express Train # 12049 – DEP: 16:05 / ARR: 19:30 Hrs.)

    You will have one last safari in the Kunu National Park before we head towards Gwalior railway station to board your train to Delhi.

    Arrive Delhi and join the main group.
