Our tour starts with a visit to the capital city of Delhi where you visit famous monuments and then ride through the old city in a cycle rickshaw for a more intimate experience of the bazaars and the people.

We then continue our journey to a breathtaking landscape of Rohtang Pass and Lachung Pass to reach the beautiful lake of Tso Khar and then travel to Leh. On the way , you enjoy the beautiful scenery and picturesque monasteries. In Leh, soak in the wonders of the colourful monastic festivals performed by the Lamas themselves and explore the surrounding monasteries and forts.

Delhi is said to be one of the oldest existing cities in the world, along with Jerusalem and Varanasi. It is the Capital Territory of India and a modern-day citadel that's dotted with ancient monuments.

History and Culture

Legend estimates it to be over 5,000 years old. Over the millennia, Delhi is said to have been built and destroyed 11 times. The oldest alleged incarnation of the city shows up in the Indian mythological epic Mahabharata as Indraprastha.

Alchi, a small village situated on low land, is about 70 km to the west of Leh district and is located on the banks of the River Indus. Alchi village is very fertile and it is all green with apricot trees on both sides of the road. It is a perfect place to relax and experience the quintessential scenery.

Nubra Valley was originally called “ldumra” which means the valley of flowers. Now, it is also known as Orchard of Ladakh. Nubra Valley is a Tri-armed valley, which is located to the north east of Ladakh valley. Nubra valley is formed by the Shyok River, which is a tributary of the Indus, and the Nubra or the Siachen River. Nubra Valley is about 150km north from its principal town, Leh. Nubra Valley was the ancient gateway for the famous Silk Route. Nubra valley is famously known as “broken moonland” because in winter, the whole valley looks like the landscape of the moon.

Tso-Moriri

Tso-moriri is mind-numbingly beautiful, calm and sacred lake for Ladakhis. Tso-moriri is slightly higher than Pangong Tso and the water is far less brackish supporting more birdlife. The water is crystal clear and of a deep blue color. However, since the Tso-moriri Lake has no outlet, its waters are consequently brackish, although not very detectable to the taste. In fact, the Tso-moriri Lake was once a popular source of salt. Tso-moriri Lake is situated in the middle of the elevated district of Rupshu.

Detailed Itinerary

  1. Day 1 Arrive Delhi

    On arrival you will be met & greeted at the airport. Later transfer to your hotel.

  2. Day 2 Delhi

    Delhi

    Start your day exploring the old & new parts of Delhi. Explore Old Delhi with the visit to the largest mosque, Jama Masjid. A fascinating rickshaw ride in Chandni Chowk after which drive past the Red Fort. In the new Delhi, visit Raj Ghat, the last resting place of Gandhi and followed by a drive past the historical India Gate & other government buildings.

    Conclude your day with the visit to 70 meters high Qutub Minar.

  3. Day 3 Delhi - Leh

    In the morning, fly to Leh and the day is free to acclimatize to high altitude and to explore the local market.

  4. Day 4 Leh

    Leh Ladakh

    After breakfast, visit the Hemis Gompa - the biggest monastery in Ladakh. Visit Shey, the king's old palace and from there proceed to the Thikse Gompa - an impressive imitation of Lhasa's Potala Palace.

  5. Day 5 Leh – Likir - Alchi

    Alchi

    Drive to Alchi, en-route visiting Basgo - a complex of buildings that include a ruined fortress (dated earlier than the 15th century), two large temples and a small shrine. Explore the Likir Monastery also called the 'Klu-Kkhjil' or water spirits.

  6. Day 6 Alchi

    Alchi

    Survey the gorgeous Rizong Gompa which encompasses a number of colourful shrines spread across the valley in an amphitheatre formation along with the dramatically situated Lamayuru Gompa.

  7. Day 7 Alchi - Leh

    Leh Ladakh

    Return to Leh via the splendid monastery of Phyang and see its magnificent frescos. Your visit includes the Spituk monastery known for its collection of Buddhist artefacts and the Spituk festival.

  8. Day 8 Leh – Nubra Valley

    After breakfast, check-out from the hotel and drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (Highest Motorable road in the World, 18,380 ft.)

  9. Day 9 Nubra Valley

    Nubra

    After breakfast, visit Diskit Monastery. Later explore the Diskit & Hunder villages and enjoy a camel ride.

  10. Day 10 Nubra Valley - Leh

    After breakfast, drive to Leh. Reach Leh by late afternoon and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

  11. Day 11 Leh – Tsomoriri

    Tso-Moriri

    Drive to Tsomoriri Lake (4725 m). You will drive through the Tso Kar Lake. This beautiful white lake is famed for the high quality salt that rings its edges.

  12. Day 12 Tsomoriri

    Tso-Moriri

    After breakfast, explore the spectacular area surrounding Tso-Moriri. You will visit the Karzok Gompa (monastery) and have the option of taking an exciting afternoon hike.

  13. Day 13 Tsomoriri - Leh

    Leh Ladakh

    After breakfast. leave for Leh (3500 m), the capital of Ladakh. Reach Leh by late afternoon and spend the rest of the day relaxing.

    Delhi

    In time transfer to the airport to board your flight to Delhi to catch your connecting flight to your onward destination.
