Champaner, formerly known as Muhammadpur, is a historical city in the state of Gujarat, in western India. It is located in Panchmahal district, 47 kilometres from the city of Vadodara. The city was briefly the capital of the Sultanate of Gujarat.

ChampanerA local temple but very prominent among tribal people, and as a part of devotion people offer terracotta horses to the deity and after fulfillment of wishes tied in and around the temple.
Drive past pigeon pavilion
ChampanerKabutarkhana Pavilion is situated on the north bank of Bada Talao near Khajuri Masjid.Basically a sarai, a small structure made of bricks and lime plaster, it was built next to the Vada Talav or pond.
Jami Mosque
ChampanerJami Masjid (also known as Jama Masjid; meaning "public mosque") in Champaner, Gujarat state, western India, is part of the Champaner-Pavagadh Archaeological Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is among the 114 monuments there which are listed by the Baroda Heritage Trust. It is located about 150 feet (46 m) east of the city walls (Jahdnpandh), near the east gate.
Laxmi Vilas Palace, Museum
ChampanerThe Laxmi Vilas Palace in Vadodara, Gujarat, was constructed by the Gaekwad family, a prominent Maratha family, who ruled the Baroda State. Major Charles Mant was credited to be the main architect of the palace.
Mandvi or Custom House
ChampanerThe well laid out square structure in the center of Champaner's fort was an exclusive and separate enclosure for royalty visiting as guests of the kings. When Marathas ruled here, the building was an Octroi or Custom House.
Sahar Ki Masjid
ChampanerThis masjid near the royal palace, very large and imposing, was for the exclusive use of the Sultans. It has five mehrabs. At the front, the entrance has an arched doorway with a large dome, with smaller domes at the four sides and minarets on either side embellished with a projection which is inclined chhajja. The other two openings flanking the central doorway are embellished with jharokhas.
Seven Arches
ChampanerSaat Kaman is a prominent structure situated on the verge of a hill on the southern tip of Champaner (Pavagadh). Saat Kaman means seven arches. However, there are only 6 arches that are currently in existence with the other one having demolished.
Tribal Museum
ChampanerThere are Dioramas of tribes like Rathwa, Bhil, Nayak, Tadvi, etc. Tribal objects, weapons, ornaments, agriculture tools, clay wares, costumes, wooden images, etc. are on display. There are nearly 861 exhibits in this museum.
