Formerly known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, the Keoladeo National Park is recognised as one of the world’s most important bird breeding and feeding grounds. It originated in as a royal hunting reserve during the 1850s and was a game reserve for Maharajas and the British.
Established in 1976 in the Bhal region of Saurashtra, the park is located around 42 km from the district headquarters city of Bhavnagar. Hugging the coasts of the Gulf of Khambhat on the south, it is spread over a large area, which was primarily a "vidi" (grassland) of the maharaja of the princely state of Bhavnagar for hunting the blackbucks with his famous hunting cheetahs.
The Wild Ass Sanctuary of the Little Rann of Kutch, is the only place on earth where the endangered Indian Wild Ass (Equus hemionus khur), known locally as the ghudkhar, still lives. The only other two subspecies of wild asses live in the high arid plateaus of Tibet, making this the most accessible place to visit wild asses in their natural environs.
An Elephant ride through the jungle of Kaziranga National Park will give you a better view of rhinos & other wildlife. The elephant safari is organized by the Forest Department twice a day.
The elephant safari allows only four tourists and a Mahaout at a time.
Motithang Takin Preserve, located in the Motithang district of Thimphu, Bhutan is a wildlife reserve area for takin (Budorcas taxicolor), the national animal of Bhutan.
Like any other tiger reserve or wildlife sanctuaries one can enjoy jeep safari in Kaziranga also. The forest department arranges two shifts of jeep safari for its visitors. The jeep is allowed to carry 6 people at a time. Jeep safari can cover large area than the elephant safari.

Snow Leopard trek serves as a heaven for animal cravers and lovers. There is a wide range of animals visible on this trek. Trek ranges from Moderate to difficult level. But for actual spotting of Snow Leopard one needs to push to high elevation.
The wildlife safari in Tadoba is one of the most thrilling experiences you can ever have.The safari jeeps are not dangerous and a guide accompanies you throughout the safari. Also, knowledgeable English speaking guides are there to give you useful information during the safari. It is available in early morning and afternoon hours.
Jungle Safari has its own joy and thrill. Morning jeep safari starts at sunrise and ends at 11.00 hrs whereas evening safari begins at 2.30 hrs and ends at sunset and timings may vary as per season. To access the Madhai entry gate, a boat is used to cross the Denwa River where the jeep waits for the tourists and takes them further into the jungle.
